Mardi Gras is a celebration in Louisiana known through out the world. Parades, music, food, and spirits all converge, creating one of the most anticipated holidays on the globe.
Tourist from all over the world appear in droves to partake in the “greatest free show on earth”.
This beautiful celebration owes much of its grandeur to an explosive use of color. The traditional colors are purple, green, and gold; purple signifies justice, gold; power, and green represents strength.
The dazzling spectrum of colors used during Mardi Gras plays a vital role in this carnival. It overwhelms your senses in a way that is equally as powerful as the food, music, and wine.
Color can alter your thinking, mood, and oftentimes, sway your reactions. It’s the decisive factor in how we choose everything from an automobile, to a banana.
In summary, Mardi Gras celebrates many things, but above all else, it celebrates…color.
